Belarus Open Track Cycling Championship in Olympic disciplines ended at Minsk Arena velodrome. The racers of Minsk Cycling Club have five victories.
The competitions traditionally opened with team sports.
In the women's team pursuit race, the fastest in both the qualification and the final was the team of Minsk Cycling Club, for which Iryna Chuyankova, Taisa Naskovich, Alina Abramenka and Nastassia Kiptsikava competed. In the decisive race, Minsk Cycling Club quartet caught up with the team of Mogilev region. And the final for third place was won by the team of the Russian Federation, ahead of the four from the city of Minsk.
In the men's team pursuit race, the team of Minsk Cycling Club also had no equal, showing the best time in the qualification, and then in a tough fight overtook the team of Brest region in the final. Yauheni Karaliok, Mark Grinkevich, Siarhei Shauchenka, Kiryl Hutsko, Ruslan Kuznetsov competed for the winning team of Minsk Cycling Club. The third place was taken by the team of Gomel region.
In the women's team sprint, the victory was celebrated by the sprinters of the city of Minsk. In the final for the first place, they overtook the team of Mogilev region. And the third place was won by Brest region.
The men's team sprint was confidently won by the sprinters of Minsk Cycling Club. Nikita Kiriltsev, Aliaksandr Hlova, Andrey Sheshenin and Pavel Valuika were the best in the qualification and in the final race. Their advantage over the team of the city of Minsk, which took second place, was more than two seconds. Bronze went to the trio from Mogilev region.
On the second day, the winners in the individual sprint were determined. Here, Minsk Cycling Club got another victory. Nikita Kiriltsev reached the main final, where he defeated Artsiom Zaitsau (Mogilev region) in three runs. Two representatives of the capital's team fought for third place. In the end, Aliaksandr Hlova turned out to be stronger. Pavel Valuika took fourth place.
The women's sprint ended with the victory of Varvara Basiakova (Minsk). Second place went to Daryna Kukharchyk (Minsk). And the bronze final went to Marharyta Kaladzeyuk (Brest region).
A tough fight unfolded in the men's and women's omnium. The winner among men was Raman Ramanau, who scored 131 points. Raman Tsishkou lost to the winner only slightly (127). Artur Kiryevich was third (115).
Among women, Karalina Biruk (134) snatched the victory at the last finish. Nastassia Kiptsikava, who took second place, scored 129 points. The third result in the final protocol was taken by Taisa Naskovich (113).
The competition program of the championship was completed by keirin and madison.
Keirin brought another championship title to Minsk Cycling Club and Nikita Kiriltsev. His teammate Aliaksandr Hlova finished second in the final. Artsiom Zaitsau took third place.
The women's keirin was won by Varvara Basiakova, who was trying to compete with Adelina Sakun (2) and Daryna Kukharchyk (3).
In the women's madison, Minsk Cycling Club's race duo Taisa Naskovich and Iryna Chuyankova confidently performed. With 37 points, they were far ahead of their clubmates Alina Abramenka and Nastassia Kiptsikava, who took second place (22). The Russian tandem Natalia Frolova and Diana Klimova climbed a third. The men's duo Yauheni Karaliok - Dzianis Mazur had no equal, who won a confident victory with two laps of distance advantage and 81 points. The second result was shown by the Russian race duo Viktor Manakov - Aleksandr Shakotko (53 points). Bronze medalists Raman Tsishkou and Raman Ramanau finished with 27 points.
