For Dzianis Mazur, the racer of Minsk Cycling Club, his performance at the open All-Russian competitions on Tula Grand Prix track was successful: four medals, including “gold” in omnium.
On the starting day of the competition on May 19, Mazur twice climbed the podium. At first the Belarusian finished second in scratch race. The third in this discipline was Raman Tsishkou, another representative of Minsk Cycling Club. And then he repeated this result in the elimination race. Both times the victory remained with the Russian Sergey Rostovtsev.
Varvara Basiakova, who won a bronze medal in team sprint as part of the Mix team, brought another medal to Minsk Cycling Club on the first day.
The next day, Mazur performed in all four omniums brilliantly: he won in scratch and tempo races, finished second in the elimination race and took a convincing final victory in the points race.
One point away from the top three was Minsk Cycling Club racer Artur Kiryevich, who also had a great performance in all omnium races.
Kiryevich got his podium after all. On the final day of Tula Grand Prix, in the duo with teammate Dzianis Marchuk, he took third place in madison. Another Belarusian duo, Raman Tsishkou and Dzianis Mazur, finished second. For the latter, this medal was the fourth at Tula start.
In total, the racers of Minsk Cycling Club have won seven awards following the results of Tula Grand Prix.
