The final day of Belarus Open Track Cycling Championships brought Minsk Cycling Club several medals at once, including "gold" of Nastassia Kiptsikava in the elimination race.
Minsk Cycling Club rider had a great fast and dynamic elimination race, winning a beautiful victory. The podium in this discipline of women program turned out to be completely Belarusian. The second place was taken by Hanna Vasilkova. And the third was another representative of the capital's cycling club Karalina Savenka.
The men's elimination race turned out to be no less exciting. Especially the ending, when the racer of Minsk Cycling Club Yauheni Karaliok remained on the track in the company of three Russians. The Belarusian did not give up and held out until the last sprint, losing only to the European champion Sergey Rostovtsev and winning the silver medal. Bronze medal got the Russian Denis Denisov.
These were not the last medals of Minsk Cycling Club in the elimination race. Kiryl Hutsko became the winner among men junior, and Aliaksandr Karneyenka took the third place. Among women junior, Alina Karotkina got on the highest step of the podium, and her teammate Kseniya Shynkarenka became the third.
Athletes of our club performed well in madison as well. Among women, the pair of Tserakh-Kiptsikava claimed victory to the last, but with 27 points took only third place. The Russian tandem Khatuntseva-Malkova (33 points) became the winner, and the second was duo from St. Petersburg Valgonen-Moiseeva (27), which came ahead of the Belarusian pair only by the final finish order.
But in men's madison, it was the final sprint that brought a bronze medal to Yauheni Karaliok and Dzianis Mazur. A desperate attack in the last laps was successful and allowed the racers of Minsk Cycling Club to move to third place. The Belarusian pair has 32 points. The silver medalists of Beresnev-Syritsa have 35 points. And the winners Schegolkov-Shichkin, with three laps of distance advantage, scored 77 points.
In Madison among women junior, a duo of Minsk Cycling Club racers Karotkina-Konrad won a confident victory.
