The men's road team of the Minsk Cycling Club successfully competed in the multi-day cycling race "Friendship of the Peoples of the North Caucasus", better known as the "Tour of Kavkaz".
Minsk Cycling Club sprinters especially distinguished themselves, gaining five victories and a whole scattering of prizes.
The starting stage (146 km) of the ten-day racing marathon ended with the complete triumph of Minsk Cycling Club, which riders occupied the entire podium. Yauheni Karaliok finished first and took the leader's yellow jersey, Yauhen Sobal was second, and Uladzimir Harakhavik was third.
At the second stage (104.2 km), the attack in the last kilometers brought success to Siarhei Shauchenka, who, in addition, got a mountain jersey.
The third stage (101.9 km) again ended with a massive sprint and the second victory of Yauheni Karaliok, who retained the lead in the overall and points standings. Second place at the stage was taken by Minsk Cycling Club racer Raman Tsishkou, who competed in the Tour of Kavkaz for the national team of Belarus.
On the fourth mountain stage (140 km), it was difficult for the sprinters to count on success. The best of Minsk Cycling Club racers was Yauhen Sobal, who took 17th place. Yauheni Karaliok retained the green jersey of the most active racer.
Criterium (65.24 km) on the fifth stage brought victory to Dzianis Marchuk. Yauheni Karaliok finished second this time.
The sixth (136.58 km) and seventh (116 km) stages were distinguished by difficult mountainous terrain, on which Yauhen Sobal took 12th and 10th places, respectively.
At the eighth stage, Minsk Cycling Club returned to winning ways - Yauheni Karaliok managed to stay ahead and won a third victory, strengthening his position in the fight for the green jersey.
The mountain trial (16 km) at the ninth stage did not bring any medals to the Belarusians. The best result was shown by Minsk Cycling Club racer Raman Ramanou, who competed for the Belarusian national team and took seventh place. Yauhen Sobal finished 13th.
The final tenth stage (124.8 km) brought second place to Uladzimir Harakhavik.
According to the results of the Tour of Kavkaz, Yauheni Karaliok won the points classification. Yauhen Sobal (7) and Raman Ramanou (10) finished in the top 10 of the overall standings.
